Gel Dalatsin T Is an antibacterial agent for topical application on the basis of clindamycin, an antibiotic of the group of lincosamides.
The gel formulation of Dalacin
The drug is a colorless transparent substance with a characteristic pungent odor. It is produced in metal tubes of 30 grams. In one gram of gel, dalacin contains 10 mg (1%) of the active ingredient, as well as auxiliary substances:
- purified water;
- propylene glycol;
- polyethylene glycol;
- carbomer 934P.
Dalacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against a large number of microorganisms. In addition, its effect reduces the amount of free fatty acids on the skin from 14% to about 2%, thus eliminating oily shine and drying out the skin.
Dalacin is a 1% gel, intended for external use only. But since sometimes it is called cream gel, it is possible to confuse it with Dalacin 2% ointment, which is intended for vaginal use.
The use of Dalacin gel
The spectrum of application of the drug is wide enough and concerns all cases of skin rashes provoked by bacteria sensitive to clindamycin. So, Dalacin gel is used to combat acne, acne (primarily purulent), various inflammations and boils.
The order of the drug is as follows:
- The gel is applied to the previously cleaned and dried skin.
- The drug is applied twice a day, in a thin layer, and do not rub.
- For the period of treatment, the use of decorative cosmetics is better restricted.
Do not use the drug together with other antibiotics, without consulting a doctor, as with some species it is incompatible.
On average, the course of treatment takes six to eight weeks, although a noticeable effect appears after the first week of the use of the Dalacin gel. In some cases, the course can be extended for up to 6 months.
With prolonged and too frequent application of the drug in bacterial organisms, antibiotic resistance can develop, so do not use it for too long, as it may not be effective in the future.
Except for cases of an individual allergic reaction, there are practically no other side effects when using the gel. There may be a disorder of the stool, nausea, diarrhea, but since Dalacin practically does not penetrate into the blood, concentrating in the skin at the places of application, such cases are extremely rare.
The use of Dalacin together with antidiarrheal drugs can trigger the development of pseudomembranous colitis. Also Dalacin is incompatible with such drugs as:
- magnesium sulphate (magnesia);
- calcium gluconate;
Analogues of Dalacin gel
In case of an allergic reaction or development of resistance to the main active substance of the drug, clindamycin, erythromycin-based medicines, an antibiotic from the macrolide group (erythromycin ointment, Zinerit solution powder) can be used instead.
In addition, there are a number of external drugs with the same active substance.
In the form of gels are released:
In the form of solutions for external use there are:
It should be remembered that Dalacin is a potent drug that is used in cases of obvious bacterial infections. No matter how annoyed you are with single acne, this is no reason to use this remedy. The use of Dalacin gel for the face is acceptable in case of massive purulent eruptions, acne and other problems that can not be cured without an antibiotic.
